When you go to a museum you expect to see art and things that will blown your mind away. Such the infinity room. But Andy Warhol’s Camouflage will blast you into another universe with all of its symbolism and detail.
Camouflage is like the modern camo that U.S. troops and many of militaries throughout the world, but the colors are very different than the original earth tones. The colors that Andy Warhol uses are very neon and a little bit blinding when you first take a glance at it. I believe that the colors Andy Warhol used were so that he could explain that war is good and that even though it is hard to let someone go into the armed forces knowing that they might not come back, you would still let them go because of the fact that they are doing a selfless act of patriotism and bravery. There is also the fact that it might not have been created to show that it is hard to let someone go, but for the fact that if you were in war you and your allies combine and conquer the enemies. So when many nations combine no matter what color, even though it may make a weird combination they can still pull it together and aid each other out of the dark times they are in. Even though the symbolism is greatly detailed colors are very important too.
There are many different colors in this piece of magnificence but they are not a common mixture. There is blue, white, red, and pink. Now the red may represent all of the blood spilled in war because the red dominates all of the other colors on the piece. The is also one of the colors with a symbol, it may symbolize night or confusion, agony and pain, because of the fact that in war sometimes communication is scarce. The white could be the hope at the end of the dark blue tunnel of confusion, as if you were deep in the ocean and floating to the top and holding your breath but even though you want to breathe you can’t because every second you are getting closer to eternity of air. Pink could represent the hope and support of families back home, waiting for their loved one to return safe and sound.
When you see art you have to check out and Warhol’s camouflage, it will blast you away as if shot by a bullet.
