Picture pain as endless as a black abyss, then all suddenly fades to dark. The only thing that remains of your soul is a pool of blood upon the ground. Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of Red Death” is a tragic, horrid, yet thrilling story from beginning to end.
Prince Prospero is a very complicated character, if you take in all of the aspects of symbolism and character traits. As soon as my eyes fell victim to this thrilling piece of literature, one of the first names you read is the prince of a kingdom. Prince Prospero has a very intriguing name, because of the fact that, Prospero, sounds like prosper. Prosper means to reach a high point or excel at what you are doing. Prince Prospero was doing the exact opposite of that, and his kingdom was being overturned by disease, half of his population was wiped out. Which was very ironic.
The horrid part about this book is the vivid detail. For instance in the first paragraph the description of the what happens to the victim that has fallen ill with, the plague. I thought that was gruesome. There is also the fact that my eyes were glued to that page for the whole story, because of this description.
One story that will be cherished is, “The Masque of Red Death” because it’s a thrilling, story from start to finish.Though our destinies are determined Prince Prospero tried to change his, and the outcome was death itself.

I really liked this story because he back up what he was saying with the story and he had a really good intro
I really liked this essay, you proved your point right away. I also liked how you backed up every single thing that you were saying. And as Taylor said your intro was wonderful!
